Briony’s story
Briony’s journey with her son Eddie began with endless sleepless nights. Born prematurely and suffering from reflux, Eddie struggled to sleep from the moment he came home from the hospital. Briony tried everything, but her nights were spent cradling Eddie in her arms as he couldn’t settle in his cot. Sleep deprivation took a toll, leaving Briony exhausted, emotional, and in tears every day.“We tried everything but the only way I could get him to stay asleep was by keeping him in my arms, as soon as I lay him in the cot his eyes would ping open,” Briony explained.“I was too afraid to bed-share due to him being premature and so small, so I would stay awake everynight from 2am until the morning”. “I felt like I had coped so well when he was in the NICU, but I was now failing once I brought him home,” she admitted. When Briony reached out to Lulla Bye Byes, she felt instantly reassured. Our calm and empathetic approach gave her the confidence that Eddie’s sleep issues weren’t her fault. “Beth constantly reassured me and told me I was struggling due to lack of sleep, not because I was a bad mum,” Briony recalled. We introduced a gentle sleep plan that helped Eddie gradually learn to self-settle, and after just one night of sleep training, he slept through the entire night! The transformation was life-changing for the family. “We are all happier now. I’m a better parent now that I’m not exhausted.“I would 100% recommend Lulla Bye Byes! My life as a mum improved considerably after working with Beth. She listened to me, took into account Eddie's prematurity and medical problems and created a plan we were all happy with! ”Eddie is now full of smiles and laughter, Briony and her family are thriving, and the energy to enjoy daily life has returned.
Sian’s story
Sian, a neonatal nurse and mother of two, found herself exhausted by her eight-month-old son's sleep pattern. Because her son was exclusively breastfeeding, he was waking up every hour throughout the night, unable to settle without feeding or comfort. Feeling drained and exhausted, Sian knew she needed help. That’s when she connected with LullaBye Byes. From their first meeting, our approach and expert knowledge put Sian at ease. “Bethany discussed the science behind sleep, and it all started to make sense,” Sian recalled. Although sceptical about whether her son would ever sleep through the night, our support gave Sian the confidence to follow the sleep plan. Remarkably, within just three nights of starting the Lulla Bye Byes programme, Sian’s son was sleeping for 11 to 12 hours straight in his own cot. The knock-on effect of this meant that the family were able to get back into routine and feel normal again. “I had energy to play with my daughter, I was less emotional, I felt like a new woman," Sian shared. Her son was also happier and more rested, and Sian felt like she was able to be the mother she wanted to be for both her children. Sian describes working with Lulla Bye Byes as ‘life-changing’ and her gratitude for our support is immeasurable. “What felt scary and unachievable was made a reality. Thank you so much Bethany!”
Helen’s story
Helen was struggling to get her son Oscar to sleep through the night. A bedtime routine of a story and a bath wasn’t enough for the two-year-old to feel ready to sleep. It would take mum Helen over an hour to get him to settle enough to nod off. However, he would wake up at least twice every night. With sleepless nights affecting her relationship with her husband, Helen knew she needed some help. A friend told her to get in touch with us and she did, even if it was just for some mother-to-mother advice at first. “To put it bluntly I think I owe both my friend and Beth my sanity for this as she has been brilliant right from the start,” Helen said. “It was encouraging to know the reasons why Beth had trained to be a sleep consultant and made us feel at ease to know that she completely understood what we were going through. Helen believes the biggest factor in improving Oscar’s sleep was consistency. “Sticking to our routine was extremely important and helpful,” she said. “Beth introduced a sleep chart which Oscar put stickers on each night so he knew what is next in his routine. ”Oscar has become so familiar with his nightly routine that he no longer needs our sleep chart, but it still travels with him when he stays away from home so he doesn't return to old habits. Helen now feels more connected to her husband, and would recommend Lulla Bye Byes to fellow parents. “Both Oscar’s and our sleep has improved drastically since completing the programme,” she said. “He now stays in his bed and goes to sleep on his own after his night time routine, which means we can spend our evenings together again. “We would definitely recommend Lulla Bye Byes to other parents facing similar challenges. “We have gone from an exhausting bedtime routine, waking multiple times in the night and bedsharing with a wriggly toddler who wakes at the crack of dawn to just an early rising toddler who occasionally wants a one minute cuddle before settling himself back to sleep.”
